These are one-of-a-kind, original, framed, quilted portraits by renowned artist Bisa Butler, who is famously known for using portrait quilts to vividly capture personal and historical narratives of Black life.
These portraits are designed to honor the African American tradition of quilting and at the same time, tell the story of the African American side of the American life throughout history. These two beautiful portraits clearly depict Bisa Butler’s skill in using fabric to showcase the African American experience.
